Learn how to ensure cleaners carry their beacons and know how to replace them when necessary

Updated over a week ago

Beacons are essential for monitoring cleaner activities in the Mero system. Ensuring that cleaners carry their beacons and knowing how to replace them when necessary is crucial for maintaining accurate monitoring and efficient operations.

Setting Up Notifications

Setting up notifications helps you stay informed about the status of beacons, enabling prompt action when a beacon goes offline or is not detected.

  1. Enable Notifications

    • Go to Account Settings:

      • Click on the circle in the top right-hand corner of the Mero Control Center.

      • Select "Account Settings" from the dropdown menu.

    • Configure Notifications:

      • Click on the "Notifications" tab.

      • Choose the delivery method for your notifications (push notification, email, etc.).

      • Enable "Inactive Cleaners" to receive notifications when a cleaner's beacon is not detected during their shift.

    • Click "Save Changes" when you're done.

Checking Beacon Status

Regularly checking the status of beacons ensures that you can quickly identify and address any issues, maintaining accurate tracking of cleaner activities.

  1. Beacon Status Overview

    • If you are on a mobile device, you may need to hit the "3 Lines" first.

    • Go to the settings pane on the bottom of the screen

    • Then click on "Cleaners" to see the cleaners list

    • You'll see a list of all your cleaners along with the status of their beacons, shift details, building assignments, and the last time they were seen.

    • A beacon is considered online if it is actively sending information to the Mero platform. If the cleaner should be on shift but the Beacon is shown as "Not Found", then the Beacon might need to be replaced.

Replacing a Beacon

Replacing a beacon minimizes downtime and ensures that tracking continues seamlessly.

  1. Replace the Beacon

    • Keep the old beacon and send it back to Mero for refurbishment.

    • Contact Mero support for guidance on the replacement process.

  2. Edit or Change a Beacon

    • If you are on a mobile device, you may need to hit the "3 Lines" first.

    • Go to the settings pane on the bottom of the screen

    • Then hit cleaners on the top of the screen

    • Click on the pencil icon next to the cleaner whose beacon you want to change.

    • Enter the new beacon ID or click the QR code icon to scan the beacon using your computer or mobile phone camera.

    • Hit "Save Edit" to save your changes.

    • To activate a new beacon, pull the yellow or white tab. The beacon should flash blue multiple times to indicate it is online.
